Centric HR appointed as a partner to Staffordshire ‘Get Started and Grow’ Scheme - Centric HR

We are pleased to announce we have been appointed as a partner by Staffordshire County Council to their Get Started and Grow Scheme, providing HR advice and services, for new businesses up to five years old in the region.

Get Started and Grow has already helped hundreds of new businesses to start-up and grow. Now the support scheme has expanded to offer a menu of fully funded back-office support, ranging from legal, HR, accountancy, marketing and digital advice which enables businesses to concentrate on their sales and output.

Anyone who has started a business knows there is so much more to think about than just selling your services or products, and the first few years can provide quite a few challenges. The HR function is an important part of business, especially as your company starts to grow and at Centric HR we can work with you to ensure you start off on with the right advice to and get the basics in place to ensure you are HR compliant.  This scheme can also help you with general operational issues and enable you to become confident people managers, whilst hopefully saving you time and money”, said Sandra Berns, Director, Centric HR

What we can offer

We can supply and support a complete HR Package with expert and legally compliant HR advice to protect your business which will include:-

  • Advice on a specific HR issue e.g., how to deal with disciplinary, grievance, performance and dispute issues (includes on-site support where required)
  • How to hire your first employee through a compliant recruitment and selection process
  • Expert contracts of employment and handbooks, specifically for your industry in line with the Good Work Plan
  • People Management training programmes for Line Managers and business owners
  • Redundancy or TUPE transfer advice in times of business change such as growth or workforce efficiencies
  • Support with transition to cloud-based HR Software which is GDPR compliant and cyber-secure


Please note you can only choose one package per business and your company must be based in Staffordshire and be under the age of 5 years old. Unfortunately, the scheme does not support businesses in Stoke-on-Trent. No match funding is required.

Application process

Any business wishing to apply needs to submit an expression of interest here: https://www.staffordshire.gov.uk/Business/Staffordshire-means-Business/Fully-funded-support-to-start-up-and-grow-your-business.aspx

Staffordshire County Council will then ask for a small application form to be completed and if successful they will then refer you to Centric HR to receive fully funded HR support.
